The Stong Willed Toddler, The Goodwill and an Overcast Morning, Everett WA Photographer

Ashlynn is just like us, she's stubborn and strong willed. She always has been. I'm not saying that she isn't sweet or loving, she just likes it her way. I cherish the cuddles when they happen but those aren't as often as they used to be. She's just on the run now and listening to Momma and Daddy isn't what she wants to do. I knew this stage would happen but as a first time Mom I wasn't prepared for it. Finding a balance is difficult. I find that my first instinct is frustration and I snap at her. The defiance then rises in her and it's a battle of wills. I always end up apologizing to her and make her apologize to me. We are good with sorrys! lol I'm trying and it's a work in progress...

That brings me to today, I found this super cute dress and sweater at the Goodwill. I struggle with the cost of clothing for her like most people do and buy gently used whenever possible. It's just so expensive for new clothes for her and I really want her to look well taken care of and of course super cute! Anyways, the dress felt brand new and the sweater is in excellent condition and I spent less then 10.00 dollars on the outfit! Score!

Of course after buying it I knew that I wanted to take pictures of her in it. I knew it was going to be tough to even get her to look at me so I pretty much just followed her or ran in front of her. I made it my goal to not loose my cool. It's not like she wants to do pictures... like ever. I have to say other then right at the end when she tried to walk off a little bridge and running into the parking lot and not listening to me when I said to stop we did pretty good.

So here's to me learning and fumbling to be the best Mother I know how to be!

Right now the little Monster is dancing to the Wreck it Ralph end title music.... I love her to much!
